Privacy Policy

SaveRecipe ("the App") is developed and operated by portfx.app ("we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

1. Information We Process

Recipe Data

The App stores recipe information that you create or import, including:

• Recipe names, ingredients, and instructions
• Preparation and cooking times
• Nutrition information (estimated by AI or entered manually)
• Recipe images (photos you take or select)
• Categories you create or assign
• Shopping list items

App Preferences

We store your app preferences locally on your device, including language, theme, and accent color settings. These are never transmitted to any server.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

On Your Device

All recipe data is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your recipe data (including images, categories, and shopping lists) is automatically synced via Apple's CloudKit service. This data is stored in your personal iCloud Private Database and is only accessible by you. We do not have access to your iCloud data. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

3. AI Processing

The App uses artificial intelligence for the following features:

• Recipe scanning: When you scan a recipe from a photo, the image is sent to an AI service for text extraction.
• URL import: When you import a recipe from a website, the page content is sent to an AI service for recipe extraction.
• Nutrition estimation: When you request AI-estimated nutrition values, ingredient data is sent to an AI service.

This data is processed through a secure proxy server (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI service. We do not store any of this data on our servers. The data is used solely to process your request and generate a response.

4. Third-Party Services

• Apple CloudKit: For iCloud data synchronization
• Apple StoreKit: For subscription management and payment processing
• Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered recipe extraction and nutrition estimation (via Cloudflare Workers proxy)

5. Device Permissions

• Camera: Used to take photos for recipe scanning. Only accessed when you choose to scan a recipe.
• Photo Library: Used to select existing images for recipe scanning or recipe photos. Only accessed when you choose to select an image.

These permissions are optional and requested only when needed. The App functions without them, though some features will be unavailable.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Subscription management is handled entirely by Apple.

7. Tracking & Analytics

The App does not contain any tracking, analytics, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or any form of telemetry.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only transmitted to AI services as described in Section 3, solely to provide the App's features.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights:

• Access: All your data is visible within the App at all times.
• Deletion: You can delete individual recipes, categories, or shopping list items within the App. To delete all data, uninstall the App and remove the data from your iCloud account.
• Portability: Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, which you control.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
